Dreams of my December…. Shuchita & Mustahid

Dreams of my December…. Shuchita & Mustahid….

Ahh…December…the month of lights, of festivities, of holidays, of reminiscing and reflecting on  the year that’s almost complete and of coarse gatherings of old friends and family.  December the final month of the year, the month old man winter forces himself  into our lives once again, but is kept at bay by the warmth of the holiday cheers and gatherings.

For Shuchita & Mustahid December will never be the same  December for now on will always be their month….just like all engaged couples who eagerly wait and dream of their big day, December was their month and now will always be…. “dreams of my December’.

Here’s to Dreams of your December…. Shuchita & Mustahid!!

the space around us… Innie + Simran…

the space around us… Innie + Simran…

Remember Innie & Simran from the post “the space between us…” So we flew into charming Winnipeg, Manitoba and shot their 5 day celebration..starting with the engagement party, sangeet night, maya, wedding & reception.

Innie’s parents home sits on a massive plot, and all the events except for the wedding and reception were held in the back yard under this massive tent, the caterer’s set up camp in their garage and back yard so all the food was freshly cooked onsite everyday, from hot naans out of the tandoor to garam garam jalebi’s made right on the spot, I felt like I was dropped right into farm house in Punjab!

I told her dad on the last night of the reception that it was quit an amazing feat he had done for his daughter.  In Toronto and big cities alike we have all our events in banquet halls or rented venues away from our home, here everything was celebrated in his own backyard, just like it would have been back home in India now how precious is that….the memories that will linger on…the music that rang out into the night as the “Jago” ceremony was done under the stars to the sweet scent of the jalebis and naans from the tandoor that will always be carried back by the warm summer night’s breezes from now onwards  forever and ever…all these memories are now cemented in this very ground…. behind this very house.

So from the their first e-session post of “the space between us” we now arrive at “the space around us”  Since they’re both together now as husband and wife everything is now around them nothing between them.

Mmmmm…..Garam Garam Naan from the Tandoor…right in the backyard!

Garam Garam Jalebis!!!

Love this shot below…It’s got a very powerful tone to it…
